Yoga
Vinyasa, Hatha and restorative Yin, on the deck at dawn or on a deserted beach. Ask which certification your instructor holds and we will tell you.

Seven to fourteen days on a private phinisi inside Komodo National Park, with yoga, breathwork and diving run from the same deck. This page covers how a retreat works, what the boat is like, and how to pick one.
Plan your journeyA Komodo wellness retreat is a liveaboard programme, not a resort stay. The boat repositions overnight, so the morning practice, the dive and the island trek all happen within a few hundred metres of the deck.
A phinisi is a two-masted wooden vessel built to a Sulawesi shipbuilding tradition. The wellness-equipped boats are the same hull, fitted out for anything from four guests to twenty depending on the vessel.
Group size is the thing worth choosing carefully. A two-cabin boat gives a family the whole vessel; a nine-cabin one gives a retreat group the deck space for a full practice.
Onboard you get a clear deck for practice, cabins with private en-suites, and a dive setup that lives on the boat rather than being met at a jetty each morning.
The practices
Each is led by a certified facilitator and pitched to whoever is aboard that week.
Vinyasa, Hatha and restorative Yin, on the deck at dawn or on a deserted beach. Ask which certification your instructor holds and we will tell you.
Mindfulness and transcendental techniques, usually on a remote island or under the park's unlit night sky.
Method-accredited sessions built to steady the nervous system, with optional cold exposure on the longer programmes.
Gongs and crystal bowls at dusk, with the engines off and the boat at anchor.
How to choose
Retreats vary more than the marketing suggests. These are the questions that separate them.
Seven days is the shortest that leaves room for the practice to settle. Fourteen is where executive recovery programmes usually sit.
Ask for the specifics: E-RYT 500 for yoga, a named method for breathwork, PADI grades for the dive team.
Four to twelve is the usable range. Above that the facilitator is teaching to an average rather than to the room.
Every operator inside the park works under permit. A retreat that cannot show you its permits is not one to book.
Park regulations are strict by design — they exist to protect the dragons, the endemic wildlife and the reefs. Expect a briefing before your first landing.
Consistent across programmes, and the reason most bookings are seven days or longer.
Improved sleep quality is the single most commonly reported change.
The daily rhythm re-calibrates the nervous system after sustained high-pressure work.
Measurable reductions, with the effect strongest on the fourteen-day programmes.
