In short

The honest position: some of this is measurable and some of it is intent. This page separates the two rather than presenting all of it as achievement.

Four things you can check yourself

Ask about any of them on day one. If the answer is vague, that tells you something.

Reef-safe sun care

Mineral sunscreen only. Standard sunscreen containing oxybenzone or octinoxate damages coral and is discouraged across the park.

Local provisioning

Produce, fish and supplies bought in Labuan Bajo the morning you sail, which keeps the spend in Flores rather than in a Bali warehouse.

Waste off the boat

Nothing goes over the side. Waste comes back to Labuan Bajo, including what guests generate.

Mooring discipline

Fixed moorings where they exist, and no anchoring on coral. The crew knows which bays have them.

What we are not claiming

Three things this page deliberately does not say.

  • No carbon neutrality

    A diesel vessel in a remote archipelago is not carbon neutral and we are not going to say it is.

  • No conservation badges

    We do not list conservation partners we cannot evidence. If a partnership becomes real and documented, it goes here with the documentation.

  • No offset marketing

    Buying an offset certificate is not a substitute for the four practices above, and we would rather do those.
